Frostpunk 2, the survival city-builder from 11 bit studios, will receive its first major expansion, Fractured Utopias, on December 8 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. The DLC builds upon the sandbox-focused Utopia Builder mode, introducing over 100 new narrative events, faction-specific skill trees, and ideological struggles that reshape how players forge their frozen cities.

Set in the bitter expanse of the Frostland, Fractured Utopias delves into the factional conflicts and clashing ideals that define humanity’s final city. Each faction now pursues its own vision of a perfect world through specialized Utopias, represented by unique skill trees powered by affinity and trust. Progress unlocks exclusive laws, buildings, and factional abilities that deepen the city’s political tension. Fully realize a faction’s philosophy, and the entire city may be bound to a single future — for better or worse.
From the disciplined Legionnaires and collectivist Manders to the hedonistic Bohemians and pragmatic Technocrats, every ideology fights for dominance. The DLC also introduces new faction hubs, specialized housing districts, two premium narrative Tales titled Doomsayers and Plague, and a new playable map designed to test the limits of leadership and survival.
Ahead of the DLC’s debut, Frostpunk 2 itself will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 18 in physical editions published in partnership with Skybound Games, allowing console players to experience the city’s struggle for survival before the ideological battles begin.
