Publisher Xbox Game Studios and developer Halo Studios have announced Halo: Campaign Evolved, a full remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s legendary campaign coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store in 2026. The game will also be available day one on Game Pass, marking the franchise’s historic debut on PlayStation platforms.

Unveiled during the Halo World Championship 2025, the remake brings the origin story of Master Chief to a new generation with fully rebuilt environments, cinematic visuals, enhanced controls, and an expanded sandbox featuring new weapons, vehicles, and missions. Players can experience the campaign solo or cooperatively, with two-player split-screen on consoles and up to four-player online co-op with cross-play and shared progression.
Halo: Campaign Evolved delivers a faithful yet modern reimagining of the game that defined a genre. Players will crash-land on the mysterious ringworld known as Halo, joining Cortana in a desperate fight against the Covenant. The remake introduces three brand-new prequel missions featuring Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson, while a remastered score, refined combat, and updated cinematics breathe new life into the 2001 classic.
Gameplay has been expanded with sprinting, improved aiming, and an arsenal of nine additional weapons drawn from across the series, including the Energy Sword and Battle Rifle. Vehicle combat remains central, but now includes hijackable enemy rides such as the Wraith, offering new layers of chaos and tactical variety. Players can also remix missions using the largest selection of gameplay-modifying Skulls ever featured in a Halo title, ensuring endless replayability.
Speaking at the reveal, Halo Studios community director Brian Jarrard said, “We’re thrilled to welcome even more players to the Halo universe. This marks a new era — Halo is coming to PlayStation, starting with Halo: Campaign Evolved.”
