Publisher Nacon and developer Big Bad Wolf Studio have announced that the psychological adventure game Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss will launch on April 16, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. A new playtest is also set to take place from October 28 to November 4.

Set in the year 2053, the game unfolds in a world on the brink of collapse as occult phenomena grow increasingly visible and humanity turns to the ocean’s depths for dwindling resources. Players step into the role of Noah, an investigator dispatched to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of miners in the Pacific Ocean. Accompanied by his AI partner, Key, Noah ventures deep into the submerged ruins of R’lyeh, where reality twists under the influence of the Great Old One himself—Cthulhu.
Developed in Unreal Engine 5, Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss promises a cinematic, first-person horror experience that fuses investigative storytelling with cosmic dread. The game challenges players to maintain their sanity as they navigate impossible architecture, unravel complex puzzles, and make choices that shape Noah’s fate in a world where perception and madness are one and the same.
