MelonPolygon and MonkeyFactory Media Sàrl have announced the free demo of Insomnia: Chapter One, representing the first entry in an episodic narrative series, and launching this October as part of Steam Next Fest 2025. Developed by Ukrainian creator Anzor Lejava under his solo studio MelonPolygon, the psychological horror experience will also be featured at Scream Fest 2025 among this year’s most notable horror showcases.

Set in the frozen desolation of the Arctic, Insomnia: Chapter One invites players into a deeply atmospheric narrative journey inspired by Still Wakes the Deep, The Thing, and Amnesia. Players step into the role of Ethan Miller, a young technician sent on a routine assignment at Perseus Station — an isolated research facility collapsing into madness. As reality begins to fracture, Ethan must navigate the decaying corridors, uncover the fate of the crew, and confront his own guilt and paranoia.
The game’s design emphasizes psychological tension over combat, focusing on exploration, environmental storytelling, and survival under mounting dread. Every whisper, note, and flickering light contributes to a slow, immersive descent into fear.
