Revolution Software has announced Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror – Reforged, a remastered edition of the acclaimed 1997 point-and-click adventure. The enhanced version will release in early 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, with a Kickstarter campaign set to launch soon.

In Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror – Reforged, investigative journalist Nico Collard stumbles upon an ancient Mayan artifact while tracking a dangerous drug cartel. Her discovery draws her and companion George Stobbart into a shadowy world of ritual sacrifice, astronomy, and divine forces that threaten humanity itself.
The remaster offers fully reworked 4K visuals, enhanced audio, and restored dialogue from the original scripts, along with new accessibility options and a choice between modern or classic point-and-click gameplay. Players can switch between the original art and Reforged visuals at any time, enjoy on-demand hints, and play with mouse, controller, or touchscreen support.
With its blend of humor, mystery, and supernatural suspense, The Smoking Mirror – Reforged aims to reintroduce one of adventure gaming’s most iconic duos to a new generation, while offering a nostalgia-rich experience for longtime fans.
