tinyBuild and developer Redemption Road Games have announced that Kingmakers, the ambitious medieval third-person shooter and strategy hybrid, will no longer launch in Early Access on October 8 as originally planned. A new release date has yet to be announced. The game will be available for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

In a statement shared by Redemption Road Games, the team expressed regret over the delay but emphasized the importance of maintaining their ambitious vision. The developers described Kingmakers as an uncompromising project designed to push Unreal Engine 4 to its limits, featuring massive battles with tens of thousands of AI soldiers, fully destructible environments, and seamless large-scale multiplayer support.
According to the studio, every system in Kingmakers is designed to behave dynamically—from soldiers who continue to fight even after the player leaves the battlefield, to destructible six-story castles and interactive structures that can double as combat arenas. The developers reaffirmed their commitment to optimization, aiming for smooth performance at 60 frames per second even on midrange PCs.
While the team needs additional time for polishing and content balance, Redemption Road Games plans to share a detailed half-hour gameplay deep dive soon, offering a closer look at the project’s large-scale warfare and technical innovations.
