Blood West Unleashes Its Weird West Horror on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on October 16

Publisher New Blood Interactive and developer Hyperstrange will release the supernatural stealth first-person shooter Blood West for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 16. The “Dead Man’s Promise” downloadable expansion will also be available the same day.

Originally released in Early Access for PC via Steam on February 10, 2022, and fully launched on December 5, 2023, Blood West mixes classic stealth shooter mechanics with a haunting Weird West setting. Players take on the role of the Undead Gunslinger, cursed to roam the Barren Lands in search of redemption — or damnation.

Drawing inspiration from genre staples like Thief and S.T.A.L.K.E.R., the game rewards patient, tactical play as players stalk ghouls and eldritch abominations through sprawling open-ended regions including the Canyons, Swamp, and Mountains. With voice acting by Stephen Russell (the voice of Garrett from Thief), the world of Blood West is as atmospheric as it is brutal.

Blood West features nonlinear exploration, immersive stealth systems, and violent, high-impact combat for those who prefer to go in guns blazing. Between cursed treasures, occult artifacts, and a flexible perk-based progression system, every run through the frontier offers new tools and tactics for surviving its twisted horrors. The “Dead Man’s Promise” expansion expands the story and adds new weapons, missions, and nightmarish foes to face.
