During the latest Capcom Spotlight, the team behind Resident Evil Requiem unveiled new insights into the upcoming survival horror sequel through an eight-minute developer diary. Director Koshi Nakanishi, art director Tomonori Takano, and producers Masachika Kawata and Masato Kumazawa shared their vision for what is described as the most immersive mainline entry in the franchise yet.

The game introduces Grace Ashcroft, a timid yet capable FBI intelligence analyst, as its new lead. Grace’s journey mirrors the player’s, as she learns to confront her fears and survive terrifying encounters. The team emphasized the game’s central theme of “addictive fear” and showcased their commitment to realism, with meticulous attention to detail—from subtle facial effects to dynamic hair physics.
Resident Evil Requiem also allows players to switch freely between first- and third-person perspectives, offering a mix of tense realism and action-oriented gameplay. Set three decades after the fall of Raccoon City, the game pays tribute to the series’ long legacy.
Resident Evil Requiem launches February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
