Bandai Namco and Rebel Wolves have released a new 21-minute gameplay overview for The Blood of Dawnwalker, offering an in-depth look at the game’s mechanics, story choices, and atmospheric world. Built in Unreal Engine 5, the upcoming RPG introduces players to a haunting alternate vision of 14th-century Europe, where plague and war have left humanity vulnerable—and the creatures hiding in the shadows are ready to strike.

Players take on the role of Coen, a young man who is forcibly turned into a “Dawnwalker,” a rare being who walks the line between day and night. Torn between his fading humanity and emerging supernatural powers, Coen must decide whether to fight for those he loves or embrace the curse to exact vengeance on the one who created him. As the world around him begins to unravel, every choice carries consequences—time passes with every decision, and not everyone can be saved.
The Blood of Dawnwalker‘s gameplay revolves around two distinct loops: daytime offers one set of skills, quests, and storylines, while nighttime brings an entirely different set of dangers and opportunities. The game’s dynamic world changes based on your actions and the time of day, pushing players to adapt their strategies and decide how far they’re willing to go to achieve their goals.
Combat allows players to shift between traditional melee and magic as a human, or use devastating vampire abilities when embracing the night. Whether through swords, claws, or raw power, encounters are designed to reflect the ever-changing nature of the protagonist’s dual existence.
Set in a handcrafted open world, The Blood of Dawnwalker features varied environments including forests, swamps, ancient ruins, and medieval towns. The game’s narrative-driven structure encourages exploration and experimentation, with a focus on meaningful decisions and long-term consequences.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is currently in development and expected to launch sometime in 2026.
