NetEase Games has announced Blood Message, an ambitious, cinematic single-player action-adventure game in development for PC and unnamed consoles. Created by 24 Entertainment Lin’an, a new studio under Thunder Fire Studio, this marks NetEase’s first AAA solo narrative experience, powered by Unreal Engine 5. A release date has not yet been announced.

Set in the waning years of the Tang Dynasty, Blood Message follows a nameless messenger and his young son on a grueling 1,000-mile journey back to Chang’an, the heart of a collapsing empire. As part of a righteous uprising in Shazhou, Dunhuang, their mission is to deliver a message that could alter the fate of their homeland. But beyond war and politics, the game explores a deeply human tale of devotion, sacrifice, and identity.
Blending visceral combat with stealth and survival mechanics, Blood Message promises not just gameplay, but an immersive emotional experience. Players will face unforgiving terrain, intense sieges, and moral crossroads, all wrapped in a richly historic setting rarely seen in Western games.
NetEase describes it as a tribute to the unsung heroes of history—ordinary people whose resolve becomes legend, even when their names are forgotten.
