2K and Gearbox Software have officially opened pre-orders for Borderlands 4, revealing new details on the game’s editions, pricing, and some of its post-launch plans. The game is set to launch on September 12 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version also in development.

The standard edition of Borderlands 4 is priced at $69.99/£59.99/€69.99, a $10 increase over the launch price of its predecessor. Two higher-tier versions are also available: a Deluxe Edition at $99.99/£89.99/€99.99 and a Super Deluxe Edition at $129.99/£119.99/€129.99. These premium editions include bonus cosmetics and access to upcoming downloadable content.
According to publisher 2K, Borderlands 4 will feature both free and paid content updates post-launch. Planned expansions include new story missions, regions of Kairos to explore, additional side quests, challenges, enemies, and even the addition of two new Vault Hunters. More information is expected to be revealed during Borderlands Fan Fest on June 21, where a new story trailer will premiere. From a technical standpoint, the PC version will ship with two forms of digital rights management (DRM): Denuvo and Symbiote.
“Borderlands 4 is the best entry point for new players while also being a heartfelt love letter to longtime fans,” said Gearbox founder and president Randy Pitchford. 2K president David Ismailer added that the studio is “raising the bar” for the series, delivering a next-generation AAA experience.
