Nintendo has officially revealed Splatoon Raiders, the first-ever spin-off in the Splatoon series, during today’s surprise trailer drop. Developed exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, the game follows a technician teaming up with the pop group Deep Cut as they explore the mysterious Spiralite Islands.

Further details about Splatoon Raiders will be shared in the future, but today’s announcement signals a bold new direction for the ink-based universe, with a focus on exploration and co-op adventure.
Alongside the reveal, Nintendo also announced a free content update coming to Splatoon 3 on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 starting June 12. The update introduces the Splatlands Collection, a new wave of weapon sets from in-universe brands like Barazushi and Emberz. While these sets are inspired by returning weapons, they come with new designs, sub-weapons, and specials. In total, 30 fresh loadouts will be added.
Classic stage Bluefin Depot from the original Splatoon on Wii U also makes its return, joining the stage rotation. Additional features include a raised weapon level cap, new badges, and the introduction of a new stat called Weapon Power per Session for Anarchy Battles. This stat will help match players with similar skill levels per weapon, making it easier to experiment or challenge yourself without being penalized.
Players using the Nintendo Switch 2 will benefit from enhanced visuals and smoother performance in hub areas like Splatsville and the Grand Festival grounds. Cross-generation play between the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 (NL/US) has also been confirmed, allowing all Splatoon 3 players to enjoy the update together regardless of platform.
