Obsidian Entertainment and Xbox Game Studios have announced that The Outer Worlds 2 will launch on October 29 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. The Standard Edition will cost $79.99/€79.99, while the Premium Edition—which includes early access, two DLCs, cosmetic packs, and a digital artbook and soundtrack—will be priced at $99.99/€99.99.

Set in the new colony of Arcadia, this sequel expands the satirical sci-fi RPG universe with more freedom, faction-driven storytelling, reactive environments, and strange new science weapons. Players take on the role of an Earth Directorate agent caught between three rival factions, each with their own agenda for humanity’s future. Gameplay is shaped by evolving traits, quirky companions, branching decisions, and a world that reacts dynamically to your choices—even through propaganda-laced in-game radio broadcasts.
All pre-orders include the Commander Zane Pack, which comes with themed gear and a drone companion. Game Pass players or Standard Edition owners can upgrade to Premium anytime for $29.99/€29.99.
