DON’T NOD has officially revealed Aphelion, a narrative-driven third-person sci-fi action-adventure game coming in 2026 to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store. It will also be available on Game Pass at launch. Notably, the game is being developed in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA), blending grounded science with science fiction.

Set on the newly discovered ninth planet, Persephone, the story follows astronaut Ariane, stranded and alone after a crash landing. Her mission: to survive the planet’s harsh frozen landscape, rescue her injured partner Thomas, and uncover the secrets threatening their very reality. As you explore, you’ll engage in traversal challenges, tense stealth gameplay, and emotional story beats centered on Ariane and Thomas’s complex relationship.
According to DON’T NOD, Aphelion will feature tools-based exploration—like a grappling hook, oxygen tank, and pathfinder device—alongside a grounded, cinematic depiction of future space travel. It’s a game that combines survival with intimacy, science with wonder, and isolation with connection, all set in an unpredictable alien world.
