Publisher Kwalee and developer Out of the Blue Games have revealed Call of the Elder Gods, a narrative-driven puzzle adventure and the official sequel to the acclaimed Call of the Sea. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. A release window has not yet been announced.

In this Lovecraftian follow-up, you will unravel unsettling mysteries through the eyes of two new protagonists—Professor Harry Everhart and student Evangeline Drayton—both drawn into a reality-bending conspiracy centered on a mysterious artifact from the past.
“Working with Kwalee has been a pleasure—they understand what we care about as creators and support us in building something truly meaningful,” said Out of the Blue Games co-founder and creative director Tatiana Delgado. Kwalee VP Benjamin Forrester added, “We’re big admirers of what the studio accomplished with Call of the Sea and American Arcadia. We believe Call of the Elder Gods will resonate just as strongly with players.”
Inspired by The Shadow Out of Time by H.P. Lovecraft, Call of the Elder Gods features dual protagonists, fully voice-acted performances, and richly detailed settings powered by Unreal Engine 5. The story will take players from New England libraries to otherworldly landscapes, as they piece together the fate of missing loved ones—and confront beings beyond human comprehension.
Players can expect refined object-based puzzle solving, new multi-character mechanics, and dynamic difficulty options, including customizable hints and optional Occult Book challenges for the most dedicated seekers of forbidden knowledge. The voice cast includes Yuri Lowenthal (Marvel’s Spider-Man, Arcane) and Cissy Jones (Firewatch, Baldur’s Gate III), returning from the original game.
