Developer bildundtonfabrik has announced that its hand-drawn 2D Metroidvania Constance will release for PC via Steam on November 24, 2025, with versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and Switch to follow in 2026.

“We’re thrilled to finally confirm the PC release date for Constance,” said game director Sebastian Drews in a press release. “The response from demo players and event attendees has been incredible. We can’t wait for everyone to experience the refined, expanded version this November—unless Team Cherry decides to drop Silksong that week. Please don’t, Team Cherry.”
Constance combines fluid, paint-based traversal and combat with deeper narrative themes exploring mental health. Players guide the protagonist through a decaying, dreamlike inner world shaped by her emotional struggles and past. By transforming into paint, players can phase into surfaces, slice through enemies, and utilize powerful brush techniques.
But these abilities come with a cost—overuse leads to corruption, so balancing offense and restraint is key. Progress unlocks new powers, combat abilities, and puzzle-solving tools, allowing players to explore six distinct biomes filled with enemies, secrets, branching paths, and challenging boss fights.
Each area represents a facet of Constance’s psyche, filled with characters and side quests that reveal more about her past and personal journey. The game aims to deliver not only satisfying platforming and action but also a meaningful exploration of emotional resilience and self-discovery.
