Publisher PQube and developer Dual Effect have released a free PC demo for Tormented Souls II, the upcoming sequel to their survival horror hit. Players can now get their first hands-on look at the psychological nightmare via Steam.

Set after the terrifying events at Wildberger Hospital, the sequel follows Caroline Walker and her sister Anna as they try to escape their traumatic past. But peace is short-lived. Anna begins to suffer from violent visions that quickly bleed into reality. Seeking help, the sisters travel to Villa Hess, a remote mountain town in southern Chile, where a secluded convent-turned-clinic may hold the answers. There, behind the friendly faces of the nuns, lies a horrific secret tied to their own family history.
The roughly hour-long demo covers the opening of the game, including the sisters’ arrival at the clinic and Caroline’s frantic search for Anna after her mysterious disappearance. As Caroline descends into the convent’s depths, she finds herself stalked by an ancient evil and the chilling legacy of her grandfather’s experiments.
Alongside the demo, the developers revealed insights into Caroline’s redesigned look. Inspired by survival horror icons like Claire Redfield and Aya Brea, Caroline’s updated outfit aims to reflect her growth as a character — more mature, yet still grounded in the series’ distinct aesthetic. Her blood-red dress and worn leather jacket blend fashion with function, standing out against the game’s oppressive environments while paying homage to classic genre influences.
Tormented Souls II is set to bring more twisted puzzles, haunting atmospheres, and brutal confrontations when it launches later this year.
