After a long road of development and community feedback, Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon has officially launched in full 1.0 across PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The dark fantasy RPG from Polish indie studio Awaken Realms is now available worldwide—bringing its gritty, Arthurian-inspired open world to console players for the first time.

Set 600 years after the fall of King Arthur, Tainted Grail invites players into a bleak, first-person RPG where they’ll carve out their fate across a sprawling world fractured by chaos and ancient powers. Featuring a branching narrative, choice-driven quests, and a deep progression system, the game promises 50 to 70 hours of content across three major regions.
Players can build their character freely—from brawling alchemists to necromantic blacksmiths or the ever-popular stealth archer. Combat blends real-time swordplay, archery, magic, and crafting, allowing for highly flexible playstyles and a meaningful sense of danger—especially when night falls and the realm is twisted by the Wyrdness, a corrupting magical force.
Alongside its robust RPG mechanics, the game adds life sim elements like fishing, cooking, home building, farming, and even journaling. Avalon is packed with more than 250 NPCs, over 200 side quests, and countless hidden secrets waiting to be unearthed.
Originally released in Early Access, the game grew from a 20-person indie project into a 50-strong team, shaped heavily by community feedback and testing. The 1.0 release marks a major milestone for the studio and the players who’ve supported the journey from the start.
