Brigada Games has officially released the public demo for Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, the breakout indie phenomenon of the season. In just over three weeks, the game has surged past 650,000 Steam wishlists and landed firmly in the platform’s global Top 50 most-wishlisted games, outperforming releases from major studios.

Built around a darkly comic vision of a zombie apocalypse, Quarantine Zone: The Last Check puts players in charge of a border checkpoint during humanity’s collapse. As the commander, you’re tasked with making life-or-death decisions—inspecting refugees, identifying threats, and deciding who gains entry to your outpost. Every mistake carries long-term consequences, whether it’s letting a carrier slip through or shooting someone innocent. Still, the game never loses sight of its bleakly humorous edge.
Quarantine Zone: The Last Check has exploded across social media platforms, racking up over 250 million views on TikTok and YouTube and spawning thousands of videos from over 1,500 content creators worldwide. According to Brigada Games, the viral momentum stems from the game’s intense decision-based gameplay, moral tension, and edgy, meme-worthy presentation.
The demo is available now via Steam. A full release date has yet to be announced, but if early momentum is anything to go by, Quarantine Zone: The Last Check could be this year’s indie game to watch.
