Bonus Stage Publishing and Rock Pocket Games will bring Somber Echoes, the side-scrolling sci-fi Metroidvania, to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on July 8. The console debut arrives alongside a brand-new Challenges Mode, expanding the game with fresh content for players seeking high-stakes trials beyond the main story.

Somber Echoes first released for PC via Steam earlier this year, introducing players to a decaying spacecraft haunted by gods, ruins, and cosmic horrors. Set within the hollow remains of the Atromitos, the story follows Adrestia—an avenging force awakened by divine will—as she chases her twin sister Harmonia through a labyrinth of sanctums swallowed by time.
The console version includes full Unreal Engine 5 visuals, rebalanced controls for gamepad play, and a new challenge-based system unlocked after key events and boss fights. With seven eerie districts to explore and multiple endings determined by player choices, Somber Echoes aims to deliver a mythic Metroidvania experience built for modern consoles.
In February, we reviewed the PC edition of Somber Echoes and were genuinely impressed!
