Ubisoft and their time-traveling architects at Ubisoft Mainz have unveiled a six-minute gameplay showcase for Anno 117: Pax Romana. This isn’t your typical toga party, it’s a city-building extravaganza set in Ancient Rome, where you, yes YOU, are the newly appointed governor.

Your mission? To transform a patch of land into a bustling metropolis, all while keeping the citizens entertained with Naumachia (that’s a mock naval battle staged by the Ancient Romans in amphitheaters) and exploring the Celtic wetlands of Albion.
For the first time in the Anno series, players step into the sandals of a character, experiencing Rome firsthand. Whether you’re orchestrating grand spectacles or navigating the untamed Celtic regions, the power is in your hands. And if you’re eager for more, mark your calendars for May 21 at 15:00 UTC / 17:00 CEST or at 8:00 a.m. PT / 11:00 a.m. ET, when the development team will stream Anno 117: Pax Romana live from the studio with game director Jan, art director Reiko, and community deliverer Oliver. Catch it on Twitch. For more information, you can check the blog post.
Anno 117: Pax Romana is set to release in 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Ubisoft Store.
So, ready your scrolls, sharpen your quills, and prepare to build Rome—just maybe not in a day.
