Nesting Games has revealed a new narrative trailer for Directorate Novitiate, offering a deeper look at the emotional heart of its upcoming urban fantasy action RPG. Set in a stylized, magical version of 2006 Los Angeles, the game follows Kana Luna—known in the shadows as Mercury—a young woman navigating a dangerous double life. By day, she’s just another Angeleno; by night, she’s an assassin entangled in the supernatural criminal underworld of the Directorate.

The trailer teases a story driven by betrayal, grief, and survival. As Mercury is pulled deeper into a hidden conflict between rival magical Syndicates, her personal relationships begin to unravel under the weight of impossible choices. A mysterious figure known only as the Constellation Killer lurks in the background, intensifying the stakes as she confronts not only enemies, but her own fractured identity.
Featuring cinematic visuals, noir-inspired tone, and branching narrative choices, Directorate Novitiate promises a rich third-person RPG experience that blends character-driven storytelling with action-oriented gameplay. Every decision players make will influence Mercury’s relationships, abilities, and ultimate fate. The game is expected to launch in Early Access via Steam this summer.
