Paradox Interactive and developer Paradox Tinto have officially unveiled Europa Universalis V with a debut trailer, marking the return of the acclaimed grand strategy series. The game is coming to PC via Steam, though a release date has yet to be announced.

Europa Universalis V expands on the series’ signature formula of nation-building and historical decision-making, with deeper diplomacy, a reworked military system, more complex economics, and population-based province mechanics. Players can guide one of hundreds of nations from the late Middle Ages through the Age of Revolution, rewriting history through war, diplomacy, and reform.
In this new installment, dynamic events inspired by real-world history—such as the Hundred Years’ War or the Protestant Reformation—interact with player choices to shape unique outcomes. Factions, estates, and cultural groups play a greater role internally, while enhanced trade systems and provincial detail give players more control over their society’s development. Warfare now evolves over time, moving from feudal levies and mercenaries to organized national armies, while diplomacy includes new layers like dynastic influence and long-term favors.
Further information is available via the official website. The game is also available to wishlist on Steam.
