Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon will officially launch on May 23 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, following its time in Early Access. Developed by Awaken Realms Digital, this open-world action RPG reimagines Arthurian legend in a bleak, atmospheric setting where the once-mythical kingdom of Avalon teeters on the edge of ruin.

Set in a world where King Arthur is long dead and the old legends are crumbling, the game casts players as a nameless prisoner trying to survive the Red Death plague, creeping Wyrdness, and a land torn apart by conflict. Avalon is no longer a place of honor and glory, but one of harsh choices and fragile hope. As different factions vie for control of the island’s future, it’s up to the player to navigate this fractured world and forge their own destiny.
The 1.0 release brings with it a third-person view option, access to three massive regions, and an estimated 50 to 70 hours of gameplay. Players can expect a full, branching main questline with hundreds of possible endings, more than 200 side quests, and a rich cast of over 250 unique NPCs. Combat can be tailored to various playstyles—whether stealth, brute force, or magic—with over 400 weapons, 55 spells, and dozens of dungeons to explore.
Tainted Grail is as much about narrative depth as it is about survival and exploration. Inspired by the original board game and crafted by acclaimed Polish fantasy writer Krzysztof Piskorski, the story spans over a thousand years of lore. Whether you’re cooking meals by the fire, crafting gear, or making uneasy alliances with gods and warlords, every decision carries weight in this grim and immersive world.
