Unknown Worlds has released the very first developer vlog for Subnautica 2, officially kicking off the game’s Road to Early Access. The team behind Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero is inviting fans to dive back in and follow development as it unfolds throughout 2025.

In the video, Design Lead Anthony Gallegos welcomes both returning and new players to join the Early Access journey later this year. The vlog also includes the first in-development gameplay footage, offering a look at the new alien world, co-op exploration, new vehicles, and glimpses of some of the creatures that await below the surface.
The studio emphasizes its commitment to building the game with community feedback, highlighting key additions like multiplayer co-op, fresh biomes, and terrifying new Leviathans. Fans are encouraged to wishlist the game now on Steam and subscribe for future updates.
“We’ve taken everything that we’ve learned from our experience on the previous games, and we’ve poured it into Subnautica 2.” — Anthony Gallegos, Design Lead
Subnautica 2 is set to enter Early Access via Steam later in 2025. Unknown Worlds will continue to share regular dev vlogs as they build toward that launch, with the community playing a key role in shaping the game’s evolution.
