Publisher Headup and developer Mirebound Interactive have announced Causal Loop, a narrative-driven puzzle game set in a fractured sci-fi reality. The game is coming to PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. A release date has not yet been announced.

Causal Loop blends cerebral puzzles with a compelling science-fiction story about time, consequence, and survival. You play as Bale, an exo-archaeologist who arrives on the planet Tor Ulsat to study the ruins of an ancient civilization. But when a mysterious alien device known as the Chronolith is activated, time itself fractures—his colleague Jen disappears, and Bale becomes trapped in a looping, unstable world where echoes of his past actions hold the key to moving forward.
Using the unique “Echo Branching” mechanic, players can record and replay up to three versions of their past selves, solving complex puzzles that require careful planning, precision, and timing. As Bale explores a haunting alien landscape across 15 intricately designed chapters, he must outsmart strange forces and uncover the lost truth of the Tor civilization before he’s lost in the loop forever.
Fully voiced, emotionally grounded, and built with accessibility in mind, Causal Loop promises an intelligent, story-rich puzzle experience where cause and consequence are tightly interwoven into every challenge.
