SEGA has announced that Sonic Rumble will officially launch on May 8 for PC via Steam, iOS via the App Store, and Android via Google Play, with pre-registration now open. Players who pre-register can unlock various in-game rewards that will be available at launch.

These rewards increase as the total number of pre-registrations grows and include items such as character skins—most notably a Sonic skin inspired by the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie—along with Chao stickers, Chao buddies, and rings, the in-game currency.
Sonic Rumble introduces a range of gameplay enhancements aimed at adding strategic depth and variety. Each character in the game will have access to a set of customizable skills, giving players the opportunity to experiment with different abilities and combinations to suit their preferred style of play. Multiple skill slots are available for each character, encouraging creative and tactical approaches to the game’s challenges.
In addition to the skills system, the global launch will also feature the debut of “crews,” a new element that allows players to form teams and work together to overcome obstacles. Both skills and crews will be accessible from the start, offering a dynamic and engaging multiplayer experience right at launch.
Update 04/30: SEGA posted a Postponement Announcement on Steam, with no new release date provided.
