Super Rare Originals has announced it will publish Moros Protocol, a science-fiction roguelite first-person shooter developed by Pixel Reign, which will be released for PC via Steam in 2025.

The game follows Alex, who wakes up on a Capital Battleship en route to war, only to discover that most of the crew is dead and the ship is infested with monsters. Alongside an AI companion and his bumbling robot assistant Ody-6, Alex must fight his way through the chaotic battlefield, adapting to survive against overwhelming odds. The game features both solo and two-player co-op gameplay, immersing players in a stylized pixel-painted world inspired by classic shooters.
Combat in Moros Protocol is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring players to continuously adapt their weapons and strategy. Those favoring an aggressive, high-mobility approach can equip SMGs or pistols with speed-boosting augments, allowing them to stay on the move while unloading rapid fire. Alternatively, a more methodical approach using sniper rifles offers powerful, precise shots that eliminate enemies in a single hit. The game’s evolving combat system ensures that each run presents new opportunities for upgrades and strategic shifts, with augments that enhance specific playstyles.
Players must navigate branching paths that offer varying levels of risk and reward, making crucial choices about whether to play it safe or chase high-risk encounters for better loot. Some paths lead to new weapons, while others provide access to vendors for skill upgrades. Regardless of the route taken, danger lurks at every turn, and death is inevitable. However, rather than marking the end, death allows players to upgrade their abilities and return stronger, ensuring that each attempt brings them closer to mastering the game’s relentless challenges.
