RailGods of Hysterra, a cooperative base-building survival action game, will launch in Early Access for PC via Steam on April 23, with a full release planned for PlayStation 5 and PC.

Set in a world where the Old Gods of H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos have triumphed, the game will challenge players to survive in a twisted landscape. Players will be able to explore solo or with up to four friends, bonding with a RailGod, an ancient locomotive fused with an alien entity. Expanding and customizing the train, they must navigate shifting terrains, battle eldritch horrors and cultists, and manage their sanity while collecting materials and upgrading skills. The RailGod, which serves as a mobile base, demands to be fed—often with flesh.
Early Access introduces improved ranged combat, better inventory management, enhanced combat feedback, expanded Madness mechanics, linked storage across train carriages, and new interactions with a corrupted version of the RailGod. More details about the game are available on the official website.
Update 04/09: On April 8, the RailGods of Hysterra team announced that the game’s release has been rescheduled to May 7.
